Summary:

Practice professional sales techniques to prospect, solicit and develop new equipment business to increase market share within assigned territory. Obtain and keep current on industry and product knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a level of sales volume within the acceptable gross profit range.
  • Make cold calls and set appointments to develop new equipment business and maintain existing customers.
  • Organize prospects to ensure the proper frequency of contact.
  • Promote new products/ideas.
  • Follow up on leads on prospective customers, actively seeking out new opportunities and avenues of business development.
  • Prepare and follow-up on quotes for new equipment that meets customers’ and PAC’s requirements and to close deals.
  • Track and report sales results.
  • Develop methods to best cover assigned territory, reacting to changes as needed.
  • Keep current on industry and product knowledge by subscribing and reading trade journals and staying in contact with manufacturers’ representatives.
  • Take active role in sales schools, meetings, and seminars.
  • Always maintain ethical and professional behavior.
  • Maintain appropriate dress and attire to represent PAC Industries professionally always.
  • Arrive at sales calls and meetings prepared and on-time.
  • Maintain appropriate level of organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, appointment scheduling, monthly reporting, customer invoicing and collections, and equipment delivery scheduling.

Position Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):

  • Strong knowledge of the commercial laundry business and products. Includes being familiar with all manufacturer’s websites and training tools
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships.
  • Detail orientated with the ability to multi-task.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Must be able to drive and sit in automobile for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, converse, and exchange information in person and over the phone with customers and co-workers.
  • The ability to access tight spaces behind and in between equipment to perform measurements for new equipment, installation, and access to utilities.
  • The environment varies based on customer and may include exposure to dust, heat, dirt, and other chemicals used in the laundry business.
  • Environment includes significant time on the road in an automobile and can include frequent stops at customer locations.

Qualifications:

  • Sales training or a higher degree of sales aptitude with 5-10 years of related experience or the equivalent education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to communicate across all work-place positions including housekeepers, engineers, general maintenance staff, general managers, administrators, VPs of Purchasing, and
