Philip A. Costabile

Philip A. Costabile, 96, of Harrisburg and Hilton Head, entered into eternal rest on September 27, 2013 at the Pathways Center in Mt. Joy, PA surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 6, 1916 in Hazleton, PA to the late Frank and Vincentina Costabile. At the early age of 11 years old he set himself apart as a musician. He mastered multiple instruments and different types of ethnic music. He performed at weddings and ceremonies and later in life became a professional musician playing in his own band during the 1940's. Philip graduated from Swarthmore College in 1943 and went to work as an engineer.

His first job was with ACF and then on to AMP where he worked directly under the founder. During his time with AMP he was chief engineer and developed the PAC Die which improved their production of terminals. His work on dies won him worldwide fame and he would tour Europe showing off his dies and processes. After his time with AMP he went on to found the company PAC Industries which he passed on to his sons after retirement.

Philip was the definition of an Entrepreneur he truly believed in the American Dream. He was a very hard worker who strove to better himself and provide for his family. He was an original draftsman for Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. He was an avid golfer and loved to exercise. Even after retirement he strove to challenge himself by mastering the personal computer and Facebook.

Philip was the epitome of "The Family Man" he showed his love by providing a home full of light and love to his children and wife. His wife Angela truly was the love of his life. They were inseparable. Philip and Angela were married on December 2, 1939 and were together for 74 years. Even when arguing Philip never let Angela go to bed without a kiss goodnight.

Philips faith in God and Jesus as his lord and master was a driving force behind everything that Philip ever did. Philip served as a Eucharist minister for 37 years attended both Holy Name of Jesus in Harrisburg and St. Gregory in Hilton Head.

Philip is preceded in death by his 2 sons; Philip F. and David J. Costabile.  Philip leaves behind his beloved wife Angela Costabile, 5 children; Vincentina Taylor & husband Stewart, Emelia Ann (Ginger) Seele, Rocco A. Costabile & wife Marsha, Frank Costabile & Wife Nikki and Wayne Costabile & wife Cheryl, Katherine Costabile the widow of Philip Costabile, 18 grandchildren; Ivan, Kathie, Philip, Coreen, Jennifer, Leland, Jonathon, Emily, Christina, Rocco Jr., Sommer, Philip, David, Kaitlyn, Rachel, Nick, Karrah and Mary, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg, PA 17112 at 11am.
